Also, we have some exciting news regarding the future of this website. Once just a wedding website, we’ll soon pull back the curtains on our lives as newlyweds. The blog will continue and the site will be getting a nice “facelift”…and new URL! Just some nerdy, cosmetic changes to keep you as excited about our lives together as we are!

What this means for all our wedding guests is that you better come prepared for a fun time! We’ve got little surprises everywhere: from the band, to the grooms “dessert”, to our dinner menu with its interesting and tasty twists on your standard wedding seated dinner. I mean, we’re even planning a special celestial event just to help our guests find their way back to their car at the end of the night! We’re calling it, the MOON WALK. Come prepared.

A week ago I had what many people call a “bachelor party.” I’d like to call it a normal weekend at the farm; there wasn’t much crazy business, unless you call attending the annual Ellaville Spring Festival crazy. Joining me were the guys in the wedding party and them some. It was so great to give these guys a sneak peak of the preparations we’ve made for the big day and the new house on the property. We got to play some golf, shoot skeet, fish, ride around in the jeeps, and even play a little home-run derby. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.

We engaged in endless chatting, caught a chic-flick, acquired hot pink nails, and soaked in the sun.  Joni also made yummy breakfasts for us on Friday and Sunday (which happens to be my favorite meal), and on Saturday she surprised us with a “Teague Time” themed bathing-suit brunch tea!  Everything was perfect.

I’m so thankful for such wonderful, genuine, and fun-loving friends!  How could anyone have anything less than an absolute blast with this crew?

Thank you, Joni!  And also a big thank you to my mom for being there to watch little Vivi while also keeping the kitchen stocked.

Meanwhile, back at the farm, Kemble and his friends were doing man things.  I cannot believe the bachelor/bachelorette weekends are over, but I’m excited that we are that much more ready for the BIG DAY!

This past weekend the mother-of-the-bride and I were busy-bees in Birmingham as we transformed a single girl’s house into a marriage-friendly home.  In case you are curious, this means making sure the master bathroom is not a soft pink shade and that all closets and cabinets are avalanche-free, among several other things.

Though Kemble may have been busy watching the Master’s, that wasn’t all he was up to. He was creating the rehearsal dinner slideshow during his viewing.  Also, he spent some quality time at the wedding site with my dad in the latter part of last week as they built structures that will be integral to the ceremony…

Let me just say that they did an AMAZING job!  The fruits of their hard labor looks incredible in the top-secret pictures I viewed, and I can only imagine how everything looks in person.  What does this mean for you?

1.  Get super excited about seeing the finished site live and in person on April 30.

2.  Pray for beautiful weather.

1. I got a job! After a few stress-inducing months of interviewing and resume tweaking, I accepted an offer from Greenway Medical out of Carrollton, Ga. This company was at the top of my list of potential employers. They have a product I can believe in and are growing very fast. I’ll be helping the company execute mergers and acquisitions. Very excited to be part of the team.

2. Ashley and I have decided that Birmingham will be our first “home” together. The commute to Carrollton from Birmingham is not too terrible and there is a chance I’ll be doing some of my work remotely, so it makes it totally doable. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the city over the last few years while dating Ashley, so I’m so excited I can finally call Birmingham home.

3. We are in the thick of wedding planning. With just 30 days left, I feel like we’ve recently entered the “frantic phase” of wedding planning. So many little things have begun popping up on each of our “to-do” lists. These last 30 days promise to be packed full!

4. One of the items I need to check off my list is creating the rehearsal dinner slideshow. I’ve really enjoyed sifting through hundreds of old photographs of Ashley and I from our youth. And a quick FYI: For all I know, Ashley’s “baby pictures” could be anyone’s; she’s a cute baby, don’t get me wrong, but she looks nothing like herself!  I’ll have to post a picture soon to show you.

One thing I came across while looking through a bunch of my old stuff was an issue of my high school paper. In this “Valentine’s Day” issue, I was included in a section called “The Bachelors of Lassiter High School.” At the time, I was probably pretty pumped, but now it just seems sad. “Hey, entire student body, I can’t get a date!” Regardless, I thought my answer to “What’s your idea of a dream date?” was pretty interesting…

“Dream Date: My dream date will be the day I get married. It’s gonna be the best day of my life!” Boom.

This weekend you can find us on-site again scratching something else off the list as we (and by we I mean the groom and the Father-of-the-bride, as the bride and the Mother-of-the-bride must attend to shower-going duties) build a stage for the band and a platform for the ceremony.

Countdown: 36 days!!!

Kemble’s brother, Josh, and his wife, Lauren, announced the birth of Quinn Abigail Teague last Wednesday, March 16, at 4:00 PM.  Quinn is precious!  We love the fact that her beautiful name and gender were completely unknown to the world until she made her entrance.  Quinn joins her big sister Nora as baby #2 for Josh and Lauren.

Quinn, we’re so glad you got to meet your Uncle Kemble on the day of your birth!  Your Aunt-to-be Ashley can’t wait to have her turn!

Today’s harbinger is my faithful TripIt iPhone App. As I explained in a previous post, TripIt helps me visualize upcoming travel plans. Since that post, I’ve completed all of the travel I had scheduled (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc). But when I opened TripIt today, I had a pleasant surprise. There is a flight coming up in 76 days that I should really make sure I don’t miss. I’ve heard wives generally don’t enjoy going stag on the honeymoon.
